Apple co-founder Steve Jobs would have turned 62 today on his birthday. To honor his memory and his contribution on Apple, the Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is naming a theater after Steve Jobs. Well, you all might know about Apple’s newly built campus which is known as Apple Park. The 1,000-seat auditorium will be named as Steve Jobs Theater, the 20-foot-tall glass cylinder, 165 feet in diameter and with the world’s largest free-standing carbon-fiber roof, is situated atop a hill. Apple announced Apple Park on February 23. Apple’s new 175-acre campus will be set for workers to begin occupying in April and the process of moving over 12,000 people will take within six months. The Steve Jobs Theater will open later this year. Tim Cook, Apple CEO said “Steve’s vision for Apple stretched far beyond his time with us. He intended Apple Park to be the home of innovation for generations to come, the workspaces and parklands are designed to inspire our team as well as benefit the environment. We’ve achieved the most energy-efficient building of its kind in the world and the campus will run entirely on renewable energy.” Steve Jobs widow Laurene Powell Jobs said “Steve was exhilarated, and inspired, by the California landscape, by its light and its expansiveness. It was his favorite setting for thought. Apple Park captures his spirit uncannily well. He would have flourished, as the people of Apple surely will, on this luminously designed campus.” So, what do you think about Steve Jobs? Share your views in the comment box below
