The current version of Android is Android N “Nougat.” So, if Google follows the history like it always did then undoubtedly the next version of Android will be called Android “O, ” and Google always named their Android versions after a dessert/snack. Well, it will be worth mentioning that Android Nougat hasn’t even rolled out to the majority of the devices. Hiroshi Lockheimer, Android’s senior vice president, had already teased about the upcoming Android version and have given us a hint what “O” might stand for.

After this tweet, users had already started to believe that the upcoming Android 8.0 will be codenamed Android O “Oreo.” According to the reports from Phone Arena, Hiroshi Lockheimer had already trolled us earlier this month. He teased Android “P” with a simple tweet that read “#2019”. Well, for those who don’t know about Pocky, it’s a traditional Japanese stick-shaped snack.
