According to the reports provided by Market Research company Kantar, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus have managed to account a total of 17.1% sales in the US previous month alone. iPhone 6s was the runner-up in the chart and have managed to contribute to a growth of 34.2% in the third quarter of 2016. Moreover, Apple also managed to be the top selling smartphone in the UK with the total of 15.1% of all sales. Kantar says “In the third quarter of 2016, iOS accounted for 40.6% of smartphone sales, a 2.4 percentage point increase from the same period a year ago. It’s interesting to note the continued success of the iPhone SE in Britain, accounting for 8.5% of sales in the quarter vs. a share of just 3.5% in the US” Android smartphones have also significantly improved reaching 55.7% of total shares which is up 4.1 percent from 2015 in Great Britain. Android also dominated on EU5, Australia, China, and Germany. So, Android is still number one in all big markets. Apple is expected to continue the growth in the coming months because the new iPhone 7 is now becoming available in more markets.
